Jackets defeat Ashland in a thriller

Junior Tressel Bockover knows what it means to take in the high school experience.

She participates in cheer, band, Teen Advisory Council, and is a class officer.

Her love for the band started the moment she joined six years ago. “ Some of my favorite things about the band are the Friday night football games, the halftime shows, and the people,” said Bockover.

Bockover has not always found connections but she has found a way to overcome and make many great friends.

“One of the biggest things I had to overcome was putting myself first when it came to friendships and relationships. I needed people who brought out the best in me and were supportive of me and what I was doing,” said Bockover.

Bockover has been involved in cheer for six years now.  During the school year she is an all around cheerleader and competes with the competitive cheer squad, football and basketball squads.

Although she is not fully certain as to what she wants to do in the future she does know that she would like to attend a college.

She states, “ I have not decided what steps I want to take after high school. I do know that I want to go to college.”

When asked what advice she would give to future cheerleaders she said,

“stay positive and keep having fun no matter what” She talked about how much she loves getting to cheer with her friends and how great these past years with the team have been.”
