The class of 1962 was looking for a way to honor classmate Ron Darling. Mr. Darlingmvja was an active member of the class while in high school but also once they graduated. Mr. Darling was the mastermind of keeping the class reunions up-to-date, and making sure members were aware of MVHS events.

The class of 1962 decided that investing in the journalism program as Mount Vernon High School would be a great way to keep his memory alive. The funds went to purchasing a television for the Jacket Journal website and funds to improve our Hall-of-Fame website. Over 50 yearbooks were sent to a company to scan and will be uploaded to the website.
