14 miles is the distance between Mount Vernon High School and Centerburg High School. The majority of those miles can be traveled on just one road. The distance is minimal but the memories of what occurred at last year’s game is something that can not be measured in distance.

The Jackets opened up their 2022-2023 season with a rematch with the Trojans and the outcome is exactly what the Jackets needed. This year was different as the Jackets defeated the Trojans, 57-39.

Hudson Rohler led Mount Vernon with 21 points. Trevor Buttke ended with nine followed by Ben Bridges with seven. Jack Marhefka finished the night with five.

Cooper Carpenter and Caden Rowland finished with four.

Logan Trace capped the evening off with three. B. Clinedinst and Q. Rowland each had two.
