The dictionary defines adversity as a condition marked by misfortune, calamity, or distress. Senior Anna Summerfield has a better definition.

The last four years Summerfield has had a few ups and downs while she took the field for the Jacket soccer team. Injuries have plagued Summerfield but they never stopped her.

Anna Summerfield signed her letter of intent to play soccer with the Tiffin Dragons, a D2 university.

“Anna has persevered and has overcome injuries. She came back to become this player after an injury. Tiffin University saw this and recognized her perseverance,” said Athletic Director Justin Sanford.

Summerfield first took the field as a six-year-old and continued to play soccer learning not only the fundamentals of soccer but also developing strong friendships with teammates.

This was apparent when the community room at the Energy Field House was packed with family, friends, and teammates for her signing. 

She finished the signing thanking her family, her friends, and the coaches who have helped her succeed in this sport.
