As their advisor, I would like to share an award that was recently won by our entire staff. We decided to try and earn the Audience Engagement Badge.
To earn this badge, a news staff must meet a minimum traffic threshold, use social media to engage their audience, and study analytics to measure their readership.
For four consecutive weeks, we had to post on our social media sites. We also were required to have a minimum of 5,000 views on our website with over 1,000 unique viewers.
