As the Mount Vernon football season comes to a close, I just want to say “Thanks” to all of the Mount Vernon football players and their coaches. This hasn’t been a good season for us in the aspect of winning our games, but you guys have been winners in many other ways. You have learned throughout the season that it takes more to being an athlete than winning the game. Winning is the easy part; but it takes a special kind of person to get back out there and give it all you’ve got as if it were your first game. We’ve seen you with the courage and the school spirit it takes to make a real team. Through the ’78 football season you have all worked together and learned together and done your best. I feel that I speak for all of the school when I say that we are proud of you.
To the ’23 football players and coaches- we see you and we are always proud of you!
