MVHS drops a close one

The Mount Vernon boys tennis team started their OCC season facing the powerhouse, Lexington. They dropped the match 0-5, but quickly found a way to rebound last night and dropped a close one to Watkins.

Last night saw the first ever tennis match to be held in the fieldhouse. Due to incoming rain, the match moved inside.

Senior Alex Buehrer at second singles defeated the Watkins opponent.

Second doubles team of senior Toby Boggs and junior Wyatt Rhoades also picked up the one.

Junior Quinn Hoffman is returning again in the number one position while sophomore Andrew Conway moves from doubles to number three singles.

Junior Pete Lawhon and sophomore Austin Anderson round out the varsity squad as first doubles.

The Jackets next match will be after Spring Break.
