This school year, Mount Vernon High School is excited to welcome Mr. Graham Roan to the Hive. Originally from Springfield, Ohio, Mr. Roan graduated from Kent Ridge High School before earning his degree in education from Wittenberg University.
Before stepping into his new role as Vice Principal, Mr. Roan worked as a Social Studies teacher at Lancaster High School, where he also coached boys’ soccer for nine years. Outside of his professional life, Mr. Roan is a dedicated family man, cherishing his wife and young son. He shares, “I’ve been married for four years now, and we have a two-year-old son. I love spending time with them, as well as with my extended family.”
Mr. Roan is passionate about his new role and eager to make a positive impact. He described his goals for this position: “The big goal for me is building relationships—getting to know students, staff, and members of the community, and helping people get to know who I am, what I’m about, and how I can contribute here at the high school and in the community.”
As a first-time administrator, Mr. Roan’s philosophy is to offer support across the board. He explained, “My goal is to support Mr. Coughlin, support the students, and support the teachers to make this school the best it can be.” This philosophy will be the cornerstone of his approach as he begins his journey as an administrator.
Welcome to Jacket Nation.
